Getty Images is probably the world’s best-known source of quality images and accepts only the highest quality work, meeting the strictest standards. That’s why we are especially excited to be asked by Getty to create high-definition sports footage specifically for their library. Filming sporting events is just one of the areas where our high-speed camera systems, like the WEISSCAM HS-2, offer unique capabilities, flexibility and exceptional results.
DoP Stefan Weiss and his team were asked to produce a variety of segments for Getty, including coverage of the start and finishes of sprinting events, capturing gymnasts on the balance beam and their routines in the air, as well as other events. The camera’s ability to quickly and easily switch between high-speed and normal shooting modes significantly improved production speed and reduced product cost and complexity.
In addition to the regular tasks of arranging equipment, lights and catering, Weisscam GmbH also took on the responsibility of choosing the athletes, managing the styling, and even ensuring that no corporate brands or logos were visible on the people within the frames: A time-consuming and detail-oriented job that to the Weisscam team is simply a part of the experience and expertise we offer. As the results show, our efforts paid off for Getty and they received the high-end footage they wanted for their international customers.
